Professional Responsibility

Curiosity and love of learning and qualities that I value and hope to imbue in my students. I seek out ways to grow as an educator and artist. Below is a collection of experiences I participated in to hone my skill set and learn new things.

Guest Artists in the Classroom

2022-2024 Golda Meir High School

Inviting working artists into the classroom to share their processes and ideas is a valuable experience for the students and for me. Students are exposed to possibilities for themselves as artists; they could become t-shirt designers, comic artists, or printmakers. Students can see up close how to apply the creative process to real-world situations. Through collaborating with artists in the classroom I am able to broaden my craft and skill set. Artists that I have collaborated with in the classroom are:

Sarah Gail Luther- Public Art- 2020

Miriam Shushman- Mosaics- 2023

LaNia Sproles- Collage and Printmaking- 2023

Cris Siqueira- Comics- 2024

Enrique Murguia- Screen Printing- 2024

Julia Schekel- Relief Printmaking- 2024

Innovative Educators Institute

2020-2024

The Innovative Educators Institute hosted at the Lynden Sculpture garden is a hands-on, year long professional development experience. UW-Milwaukee and the Lynden bring together pre-service, veteran teachers, and artists to develop and share interdisciplinary curriculum and strategies.
